Wireless Evolution
After the false starts and reversals of the past few years, 2003 promises to be a pivotal year for next generation technologies. GPRS is starting to make an impact on the mass market, EDGE is about to appear in North America and UMTS roll outs are gathering strength while CDMA20000 continues to set the pace for the industry. Operators and suppliers face a bewildering array of challenges as they consider strategies for 2.5 and 3G service provision. Network optimisation, content provision, Bluetooth and WLAN integration, terminal development, standardisation, support systems, billing and interconnect-these and numerous other issues have to be assessed in the move to the non-voice future.

Wireless Evolution is dedicated to assessing and clarifying the choices and concerns behind the wireless technologies of today and tomorrow. As the wireless world becomes a more daunting and complex place, Wireless Evolution offers a guide to-and through-the maze of next generation technology issues.

Wireless Evolution is published as a supplement to Mobile Communications International in June and October.
